강태욱은 시간의 연속성, 시간의 흔적에 관한 이미지 작업을 중심으로 작품 활동을 하고 있으며 클래식 공연 및 아티스트 프로필 작업과 상업 광고를 병행하고 있다. 중앙대학교 예술대학 사진학과 학사취득 후 한국일보 사진기자로 활동하다가 프랑스로 유학하여 파리1대학에서 조형예술학과 석사를 취득하였다. 시간의 흐름, 빛의 빈자리. 중첩되는 시간 속에서 변화되는 이미지에 대해 관심이 많으며 특히 인물 위주의 작업에서 대상의 새로운 면을 이끌어낸다는 평을 받고 있다. 귀국 후 스튜디오 WorkroomK를 운영하며 각종 언론매체, 기업 및 홍보대행사와 작업을 진행 하였다.

 

Kang Taeuk’s artistic practice centers on images exploring the continuity of time and the traces it leaves behind. Alongside his personal artistic work, he is also active in classical music performance photography, artist portraiture, and commercial advertising. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Chung-Ang University, he worked as a photojournalist for the HanKook Ilbo(Newspaper) before moving to France to pursue graduate studies. He received a Master’s degree in Plastic Arts from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. His work explores the passage of time, the absence of light, and the transformation of images through layers of overlapping time. He is particularly recognized for revealing new and unexpected aspects of his subjects, especially in his portrait work.

After returning to Korea, he founded and operated the photography studio WorkroomK, collaborating with various media outlets, corporations, and advertising and public relations agencies.
